The drive still works so I formatted it and clean installed a copy of the original OS that shipped with the machine Mac OS 8.5. It really captures that out of the box experience from 1998. Additionally I installed an IDE 64GB SSD conversion. The 64GB drive is partitioned to 8GB for the OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS 10.2 operating systems and a 54GB partition with all of the software installed on it. These machines were limited because they were pre USB and Firewire making them difficult to get files on and off of BUT I solved that with a USB Firewire Card featuring 2 firewire ports and 3 USB ports. The firewire and USB are functional in OS 9.2.2 and OS X 10.2 but 8.5 does not support USB. This machine also features a Zip drive and 5 brand new in the package zip discs with cases and disc holder. The machine also has a floppy drive that is tempermental. I am not sure if it is the drive or the discs. It reads and writes some discs and won't recognize others.
