ThrowbackBuys' Flux Capacitor ("the App") provides a product import service for ThrowbackBuys sellers who run a Shopify store. This Privacy Policy describes how information is collected, used, and shared when you install or use the App in connection with your Shopify store. A ThrowbackBuys seller account is required to use the App.

 

Information the App Collects

When you install and use the App, we may collect:

  • Device information, such as your browser, IP address, time zone, and cookies on your device.
  • Store information, accessed through the Shopify API, such as your store name, store address (domain), currency, and a secure access credential for the connection.
  • Product information, accessed through the Shopify API, such as product titles, descriptions, images, SKUs, variants, inventory, and pricing.

The App does not access your store's customers or orders.

 

How the Import Works

Transferring your product information is the App's core service, and it happens only after you initiate an import. When you start an import, the App reads the products you select from your Shopify store through the Shopify API, lets you review them, and creates matching listings in your ThrowbackBuys seller shop. The connection is read-only with respect to your Shopify store: the App does not change or remove anything in your store.

 

How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and operate the App and create the listings you import into your ThrowbackBuys seller shop.
  • Communicate with you and provide support.
  • Maintain the security of the App, authenticate access, and detect or prevent fraud or misuse.
  • Comply with applicable law and enforce our terms.

We do not use your information for behavioral advertising, and we do not sell your information.

 

How We Share Information

We may share information:

  • With service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as hosting, infrastructure, listing processing, error monitoring, and email delivery.
  • With ThrowbackBuys, to create the listings you choose to import into your ThrowbackBuys seller shop.
  • As required to comply with applicable law or valid legal process, to enforce our terms, or to protect our rights and the rights of others.
  • In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice as required.

The information collected from your store is used only to provide the service described here. It is not traded or shared with third parties for unrelated purposes.

 

Retention and Deletion

We retain the information for as long as needed to provide the App, or until you uninstall the App or request deletion. When you uninstall the App, we delete the connection credential and the associated connected-store information we hold, subject to any retention required by law.

 

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit using industry-standard secure connections. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

 

International Transfers

We are based in the United States, and your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions. Where required, we rely on recognized transfer mechanisms.

 

Your Choices

You can stop all data collection by the App by uninstalling it, which you can do at any time from your Shopify admin. You may also contact us to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you.

 

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version and update the "Last updated" date above.
