This is the WM-FX195 released in the late 90s. This is one of the last Walkmans Sony produced at the end of the analog era before the market was taken over by digital and streaming. By this time Sony had really gotten the production of walkmans down and this is one of the newest, most efficient, and most reliable units they ever made. This model features Mega Bass, excellent battery life and an AM/FM radio.
WalkmanDude Refurb Checklist:
- Remove old belts and clean deteriorated belt remains
- Replace with new belts
- Resurface belt pulleys
- Clean motor brushes and re-lubricate motor
- Clean and lubricate the capstans
- Clean, renew or replace pinch rollers
- Clean and demagnetize the head
- Clean and DeoxIT the volume pot and all switches
- Resolder and clean the headphone jack
- Test the capacitors and replace any that are not up to spec
- Run a frequency test tape with the unit hooked up to a spectrum analyzer to calibrate the speed and check for wow and flutter. Any additional adjustments are made to ensure the walkman runs true.

We guarantee every Walkman for 30 days, that should be enough time to test it out and make sure that it works correctly. Should you have any issues at all in that period we will troubleshoot it and if neccessary send you a prepaid label to send it back to us and we will make any repairs necessary or swap the unit out for a new one. After the 30 days should a problem arise we will troubleshoot it free of charge, if it does need repair you send it to us, we will look at it and work together to come up with an affordable solution.
