WalkmanDude is proud to present the last of the Beige era, the Power Macintosh G3! This 333Mhz machine is maxed out with 768MB of RAM and upgraded with a brand new 64GB SSD conversion making this machine significantly faster than the day it was purchased! The thermal paste has been replaced and the boards and fans have been dusted out. This is the absolute best vintage computer time capsule you will find on eBay. The machine is loaded with tons of memorabilia from the late 90s to early 2000s era. This machine does a lot and is completely ready to use! The machine triple boots into OS 8.5, OS 9.2.2 and OS X 10.2, loads Windows 98 and plays Super Nintendo and Sega games! It can even browse vintage websites on the protoweb like its 1999! WalkmanDude has spent hundreds of hours bringing these machines back to life and we truly want you to have a fantastic trip down memory lane and enjoy the vintage computing experience!
I got this machine with the original SCSI 8.5GB harddrive and I thought it was so cool and felt like I had to keep it for nostalgia. The drive still works so I formatted it and clean installed a copy of the original OS that shipped with the machine Mac OS 8.5. It really captures that out of the box experience from 1998. Additionally I installed an IDE 64GB SSD conversion. The 64GB drive is partitioned to 8GB for the OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS 10.2 operating systems and a 54GB partition with all of the software installed on it. These machines were limited because they were pre USB and Firewire making them difficult to get files on and off of BUT I solved that with a USB Firewire Card featuring 2 firewire ports and 3 USB ports. The firewire and USB are functional in OS 9.2.2 and OS X 10.2 but 8.5 does not support USB. This machine also features a Zip drive and 5 brand new in the package zip discs with cases and disc holder. The machine also has a floppy drive that is tempermental. I am not sure if it is the drive or the discs. It reads and writes some discs and won't recognize others. The CD-ROM drive works fine.
The monitor is a genuine Apple monitor with built in speakers. The monitor and the speakers are fully functional, it looks and sounds great. The audio patch cable is included. Some music is already in the iTunes library to get you started making your favorite playlists! If you were more of a Winamp person, rest assured that is also on the machine.
An easy to understand user manual with pictures that explains how to operate all the functions of the machine and run everything is included. The machine has multiple excellent word processing applications and you can easily transport documents from the computer to any modern machine with a standard USB thumb drive and even google drive can open the document files! There are also bootable CD-Rs of Mac OS 9.2.2 and Mac OS X 10.2 and a disc image of the Mac OS 8.5 Original System Restore Software saved on the harddrive.
This Power Macintosh even connects to the internet through the ethernet port. I have programmed Netscape Navigator to connect to the PROTOWEB which is a vintage web-server that hosts 1000s of vintage websites that completely recreate the experience of surfing the web in the 90s and early 00s. This is something you have to see to believe. It's wild to browse old school websites. It really immerses you in the era.
The Logitech F310 gamepad drivers have been installed and ready to use, it is a top notch modern gamepad that works wonderfully with vintage Macs and Windows 98 and works in many of the games. Late 90s early 00s computer gaming was predominately designed for the keyboard but some games are much easier to play with the gamepad so of course we included one!
WalkmanDude makes these machines to rekindle that feeling of vintage computing, so a majority of the focus is on the OS 9 side of things, however, you can launch most of the OS 9 software in OS X if that is what you prefer. We are constantly upgrading the capability of these machines and the listings will be updated as time goes on.

* Sega and Super Nintendo - Most of the games work. Some may not work due to conflicts with the emulation software. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of games and I have not been able to test them all. I haven't had any not work but I can't guarantee that all of the console games will work.
The included Logitech Gamepad DOES work with Sega and Super Nintendo.
*** READ: This is a fantastically restored and maxed out Power Macintosh G3 with years of fun installed and ready to go. The case is in good condition but when you get closer you can see some yellowing from age but overall not too bad, more so on the monitor than the computer case. The SSD is new but the SCSI drive is old and on borrowed time it has been included for nostalgia purposes and I would refrain from using it as your primary drive. Use it to experience the orginal out of box experience but I would leave the heavy lifting to the newer hardware. I have experience and will take great care in packing this and ship it with insurance just in case anything happens. WalkmanDude really appreciates you looking at our listings and want you to feel welcome to ask any questions you may have. We really enjoy working on older computers and want to keep these older machines making people happy so we are happy to help in any way we can. We cannot thank our customers enough for all the support and kind comments we have received over the years!
Lastly, We have many different machines in many different price ranges. If you like what you see here please visit our store and check out our other listings. We take just as much care in every other item we sell.
**** Edit: Monitor has been removed from this package, SCSI HDD has been disconnected for compatibility reasons, other accessories still included. ATI Radeon 7000 has been installed. New Power Supply has been installed.
